Application

The first step to getting a puppy from us is to fill out an application. Not everyone will be accepted. Being open to all colors and both sexes gives you a better chance of being matched with a puppy. I look for people who are dedicated to raising and training their Aussie well. Most Aussies will need aversion tools at some point, ideal applicants are willing to go to any length to keep their Aussies safe, sane, and respectful members of society. This includes use of tools, training, and exercise both mentally and physically. I also look for people who have yards or the ability to provide enough exercise to their Aussie. If you rent, we will need confirmation from your landlord that you can have a dog. I am also looking for people who have done their homework, know about the breed, and understand how much work a young Aussie can be. I expect people to be financially ready to take on a dog as well, the cost of the dog, vet bills, training, tools, treats, equipment, canine sports all can be a substantial financial commitment. Aussies in particular tend to need many months of training using both positive and negative forms of training. Aussies are a big powerful breed and need strong owners who will take charge and be a leader. Ideal applicants are not soft people, afraid of giving a correction or thinking they are “babies”. They understand that these dogs are DOGS and can be very stubborn, high energy, bouncy and powerful. They are excited and willing to take on the super fun task of putting that energy to use and getting an incredible dog after all the hard work.

Deposits OR

Waitlist

After your application is accepted, a deposit will hold your spot for a puppy. This does NOT guarantee sex, color or disposition. Some people will be placed on a waitlist and some will be offered the option of placing a deposit. This mostly depends on how many people I already have deposits for. I typically only take 5 deposits prior to the mom getting pregnant. Then I waitlist everyone else until after puppies are born. Once puppies are born, I will go through the waitlist to see who is the best fit for the rest of the puppies. Show and performance homes will ALWAYS get priority over pet homes regardless of when they applied or sent in deposits. Deposits are nonrefundable and $300. If you wish to place a deposit, I accept venmo, cash, check and paypal. I do not accept Zelle because my bank can’t accept them. Order of deposit determines order of selection AFTER show puppies. If you are the first person to place a deposit and you are a pet home and then I have three show/performance homes come after you, you will be 4th selection.

Selections

Selections are done when puppies are between 6-8 weeks old. Show and performance homes will ALWAYS be matched first. You will not know which puppy you are taking home until this time. I do my best to match people with gender and color preferences. Being more open to a variety of gender and color preferences, increases your chances of being matched with a puppy.
